UM High Voltage Lab-Petronas Collaboration Meeting

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 June 2024 – Two staffs from Petronas (Petroliam Nasional Berhad) visited the Universiti Malaya High Voltage Laboratory (UMHVL) at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya on 13 June 2024. The main purpose of the visit was to establish a research collaboration between UM and Petronas in the field of dielectric material characterisation.

During the meeting, the Head of UMHVL, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Hazlee Azil Illias, who is also the Chair of IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) Malaysia Chapter and the Counselor of IEEE Universiti Malaya Student Branch, introduced the facilities available at UMHVL and explained the activities carried out at the lab and the lab safety requirement related to dielectric material characterisation. The delegates were brought to UMHVL to gain a better insight into the lab. Two members of UMHVL, Mr. Ciptian Weried Priananda and Dr. Saurabh, also joined the meeting to provide more input on dielectric material characterisation.
