PERMATANG PAUH, 3 February 2020 - The 2020 Malaysian High Voltage Network (MyHVnet) Colloquium was held on 3rd February 2020 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTH) Cawangan Pulau Pinang. The colloquium was co-organised by MyHVnet and UiTM. The colloquium covered wide range of industrial experience and research in high voltage engineering. They include lightning, insulation and electrical discharges, transformers, electromagnetic compatibility, conductors and grounding system and other high voltage related issues.
Two papers from the University of Malaya High Voltage Research Group (UMHVRG) were presented in this colloquium. The presented papers entitled "Classification of cable joint defects based on partial discharge data using optimized artificial intelligence" and "Optimization of corona ring design for porcelain insulator string using imperialist competitive algorithm.” Both papers were presented by Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Hazlee Azil Illias, the Head of UMHVRG.
